Basic Life Insurance

Basic life insurance is a company-paid life insurance plan that is provided to all regular, full-time employees. Employees have the option to cover their spouse and children thru paycheck deductions. It is a term life insurance policy, which means that the coverage lasts for as long as you are employed with WEC but it can be ported if your employment with WEC ends. The benefit can be used by the beneficiary to pay for funeral expenses, outstanding debts, or other financial needs.

Employees: Basic Life for employees provides employees with a death benefit that is equal to 1x your annual salary, up to $50,000. AD&D is included and can double the benefit payout when eligible.

Spouse/Children: Basic Life for spouse and children is an employee-paid benefit that gives employees a way to cover their spouse and dependent children with $10,000 in life insurance. AD&D is not included in this benefit.
