Hospital Indemnity Insurance

Hospital indemnity insurance is a type of supplemental health insurance that helps pay for out-of-pocket costs associated with a hospital stay. It is not a replacement for major medical insurance, but rather a way to supplement your existing coverage.

Hospital indemnity insurance plans typically pay a fixed dollar amount per day of hospitalization, regardless of your medical bills. This money can be used to help pay for deductibles, copays, coinsurance, or other expenses not covered by your major medical insurance plan.

Hospital Indemnity Insurance provides a fixed benefit for hospital stays, but it's not a substitute for traditional health insurance.

Claims can be filed by completing a claim form, online at Unum.com or by calling Unum at (800)635-5597.
